Many tomorrows have been and gone.
If you are not careful,
The time for planting will have passed.
~RUMI~
We have all read the passage in the bible that states; "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." Many things are important in that statement. First, it gives you the power of creation, it becomes about choice. As you create you will have. Therefore if you do not sow /plant anything you will have nothing to reap/gather. I believe this is one of the base causes of so much depression within our western society. Secondly, it states that if you sow something you will reap something. But what if we sow something, consciously nurture it, tend to it and love it. My guess would be that this nurturing approach would have a direct effect on our quality and quantity of sowing/receiving.
Nature if we allow it supports our motivation to sow. Once we have rested in the arms of winter and allowed our insides to settle and re-align, we begin to feel a stirring. We can no longer sit quietly as everything around us including our own sinew is 'springing' to life.
The gardener and farmer plan for this moment. They wait in great anticipation about beginning their crops and gardens, carefully planning the perfect time to plant their various seeds.
And A Time For Every Purpose Under Heaven.
As we become the observer to Nature around us we begin to understand her language and instructions. She has created for us a blueprint of flow in life. As mother earth springs forth with new blossoms, we can as well. If we harness this birthing energy and not mistake it for 'something's wrong' we can begin to look for the natural newness that is being expressed through us.
This newness can be expressed in a toddler seeing a butterfly for the first time or a child attending her first day of school. There is excitement, apprehension of the unknown and hopefulness that it will all be ok.
We experience it each year when suddenly the days are longer. The sun is up and warming the air as we walk our children to the bus. The birds are awake brightening your morning with her song. There is a sense of anticipation for what the season will bring. The feeling is contagious it is refreshing and rejuvenating. Tonight when you return home from work you will hear the sound of children playing outside. It's a sign of new life. The end of winter and the beginning of a new hopeful season.
Lets explore a life example:
Peri-menopause:
This is a time that many woman dread. Our society values youth and beauty as defined by shallow marketers targeting that 'something's wrong with me feeling' that we are trained into. If my body were different, if I could afford a new wardrobe, if a had a different spouse…
How about this, NOTHINGS WRONG, EVERYTHING IS ON PURPOSE. Your looks are perfect. Your weight is perfect. Your spouse is perfect…Everything is perfect for exactly where you are right now AND you get to re-create it in every given moment.
Peri-menopause is the Springtime of your Wisdom Years. It's the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You know more than you ever have, you've been there done that and now its time to truly step into your space of power, internally and externally. Done consciously it is truly a wonderful time for exploration, discovery and creation.
Career:
How's it going? Does your career serve and speak to who you are? Do you feel fulfilled in your life? Please know that you may be a cashier at a Handi-Mart who makes people smile all day with your warmth and lightness of being. Perhaps this job allows for you to support your-self and your family while you get to connect to people in a way that makes a difference in the world! THAT'S FULLFILLMENT!
You may be a brain surgeon who finds her work restrictive, and struggles with the lack of connection with people in a way that supports who she wants to be in the world. You might be making 1.2 million a year, yet you feel empty, depressed, powerless and unfulfilled.
You see your sense of fulfillment does not come from your level of income or the prestige, which your career provides for you. It comes from your inner sense of knowing that you are being the best version of you, that through your work, and yes full time mothering is work, you are being congruent with your deepest truth and honoring yourself.
Spring is a wonderful time of year to plant new seeds, ideas and projects. We again can utilize nature as our mirror to explore our deepest parts of self that can use some healing and attention. Go Well and God Bless
